I really believe that Provigil (I am taking 100 mgs now) is helping me to function much better throughout the day. I take it almost every day now as I have different things that I need to do that involve attention, socializing, etc. It's even amazing that I am able to really focus on reading books now much better. My short term memory really suffers under the weight of fatigue.
On another note, I think my thyroid (TSH) is moving within the normal range. I'll see my endocrinologist in July along with my sleep study (I can't wait for that).

Hypothyroid still - High TSH Level
I just got an email from my Endcrinologist (I love docs who are willing to work over email, that rocks). And my TSH is 22 (it was 42). It needs to get down to 2-3 to be within the normal range. Anything above that puts me in the hypothyroid range.
It's no wonder it's been doubly hard to fight fatigue, temperature intolerance, and weight control. The doctor has increased my Synthroid and I will get to pick it up tomorrow at the VA. I'm feeling quite sluggish today (at least I have a good excuse). I'm supposed to have Hapkido practice tonight. I've been able to rest and muster the energy to train.
I can't wait to have the thyroid supplement evened out and a normal TSH level -- I can't imagine what it will feel like then?? Really good I think :-)
7:50 p.m - I slept most of the day (seriously wiped out) and had to forego practice tonight. I just couldn't beat the fatigue today.
Next time.

Had Combat Hapkido Today - Eyes Bugging Me
I've definitely got a bout of optic neuritis -- but nothing like I had before I started taking Copaxone. I'm dealing with quite a bit of blurriness, and of course this gets worse as I heat up. That's just the nature of optic neuritis.
I decided to modify my gi today and not wear the jacket. I did that last night as well. This helped practice quite a bit. CC and I joined the "Black Belt Club" for Combat Hapkido so that we can go to three practices a week. This will be a great option to really focus on the art and get some good conditioning. We are working on making one of our rooms into a martial arts room with matting and our heavy bag. It'll be great.
I was quite tired today after training and slept a little bit. Nothing out of the ordinary. I am looking forward to hearing about my thyroid blood work.

No Limits .....
I had a full day Combat Hapkido Seminar (6 hours worth) and was actually able to sustain. I felt unlimited in most ways. It's amazing. When I am doing that I do not feel the disease called MS (minus the bladder most of the times, this is the most annoying part).
But bladder aside, I learn to compensate and take measures to help that out including catheterizing beforehand and NOT depriving myself of water or fluids. I need them ... and I sweat a lot ... so NOT drinking is not an option.
Great day. Even when the doctor found it hard to believe that I was doing martial arts with my TSH level at 41 ... I find a way to do it. The human spirit is pretty strong when it needs to be.
Cool stuff!!!
